is a pharmacist and molecular biologist with focus on molecular and cellular physiology. His research focuses on high-resolution detection of ion signals, metabolic activities, protein interactions and transport processes, with a particular emphasis on age-associated diseases. He and his team have filed several patents and received numerous scientific awards. Currently, he works on the development of fluorescent biosensors for nitric oxide, vesicular pH alterations, mitochondrial protein import, and subcellular K+ signals, which all open doors for yet unfeasible high-content research. Within TRPC.at, he collaborates with Sánchez-Murcia
(photopharmacological TRPML1 agonist), Tiapko (endothelial cells from TRP KO mouse models), Olschewski/Nagaraj (ex vivo models), and Holzer/Curcic (cardiomyocytes).
