is a biotechnologist with strong interest in super-resolution microscopy in living cells and animals to investigate the dynamics and bioenergetics of the mitochondrial ultrastructure. Employing structural illumination microscopy (SIM) he visualised the special rearrangement of the mitochondrial calcium uptake machinery (MICU1, MCU, and EMRE) in different cell types and connects local mitochondrial membrane potential gradients to ion fluxes within mitochondrial substructures. Within TRPC.at, he collaborates with Sánchez-Murcia (photopharmacological TRPML1 agonist), Tiapko (endothelial cells from TRP KO mouse models), Olschewski/Nagaraj (ex vivo models), and Holzer/Curcic (cardiomyocytes).
