Bernadett Bacsa

is a chemist specialising in the development photopharmacological tools and strategies to modulate ion channel function. She has paved the way for the development of modern synthetic strategies for complex peptides and contributed to the development and production of hairpin cyclic peptidomimetics. Her current focus is is on spatio-temporal modulation to decipher calcium signalling pathways with a special interest in immune cells. She collabora-tes with Sánchez-Murcia (photopharmacological TRP modulators), Malli/Gottschalk (genetically encoded sensors, super-resolution microscopy), Olschewski/Nagaraj (vascular tone measurements), and Schindl and Tiapko (cellular electrophysiology).
